Get to Know Spotts and Prospect

Leaving South Sound, we come to Spotts and Prospect, areas just beyond South Sound on the road leading east that have become de facto suburbs of George Town, enjoying a peaceful location within an easy commute of town. Prospect Point Road itself is a quiet country lane, just off the busier highway but a world away in terms of peace and quiet, right on the waterfront with beautiful single-family homes as well as a few condominium complexes that offer very affordable accommodation, just steps from the sea. There is also a small, but excellent, private school. 

The other side of the main road leads us to Prospect and Patrick’s Island, offering everything from modest three-bedroom family homes to luxurious waterfront properties with their own moorage. In Spotts and Prospect, buyers can choose from oceanside or inland condominiums and a range of small, select subdivisions with single-family homes.

This area houses the Prospect Playhouse, one of two theatres on the island that offer live amateur performances, the Grand Harbour shopping centre, which includes a large, convenient supermarket and liquor store, and – a little farther out – Pedro St. James, a historic building that has been reconstructed and restored in the style of the time and has become a key tourist attraction as it demonstrates much of the island’s history.
